LEGO Code Explorers: Build, Think, Create!

During this interactive workshop, young learners will discover the world of coding, algorithms and computational thinking through creative LEGO building challenges.

Our mission is to turn ordinary LEGO bricks into extraordinary learning opportunities!

What will we do?

🧱 Mission 1: Build an Algorithm

Students will learn how computers follow instructions by creating LEGO models using step-by-step building sequences. They will discover why instructions must be clear and precise.

🚀 Mission 2: LEGO Coding Challenge

Working in small teams, children will design LEGO constructions and create simple algorithms using arrows, symbols and colour-coded instructions. Younger students will practise sequencing, while older students will explore loops, patterns and conditional instructions.

🏙️ Mission 3: The Smart LEGO City

Each team will become a group of young engineers and inventors. Together, students will build a futuristic LEGO city featuring creative houses, bridges, vehicles and imaginative technological solutions.

🐞 Mission 4: Find the Bug!

Students will test instructions, identify mistakes and improve their solutions. Through playful challenges, they will discover that debugging is an important part of programming.

🏆 Mission 5: Young Inventors Showcase

At the end of the workshop, students will present their LEGO creations, explain their algorithms and share what they have learned.

Learning objectives:

Develop logical and computational thinking.
Understand basic programming concepts, including sequences, loops and debugging.
Strengthen creativity and problem-solving skills.
Encourage teamwork, communication and collaboration.
Inspire interest in coding, engineering and STEM education.

Target audience: Primary school students, grades 1–5 (approximately 7–11 years old).

Duration: Approximately 90 minutes.

Materials: LEGO bricks, building plates, printed coding cards and colourful instruction sheets.

No previous programming experience is required.

Our goal is to show that coding is not just about computers — it is about imagination, creativity, logical thinking and bringing ideas to life!

Let's build, code, explore and create the future together!
