Join the movement for digital creativity

The beauty of Code Week is that there’s no single way to take part. Whether you run an event or join one, you're helping grow a movement built on creativity, inclusion and digital skills. Spread the joy of coding, connect with like-minded people, and empower others to shape their digital future. Every action makes a difference.
What EU Code Week is all about

EU Code Week is a community-led initiative, supported by the European Commission and powered by volunteers, that brings coding and digital creativity to life across Europe and beyond. Schools, teachers, libraries, clubs, businesses and public bodies can all take part by organising activities and sharing them on the Code Week map.

Code Week helps people raise awareness of coding, engage students, build local and international connections, exchange ideas with other organisers, and work towards recognition such as the Certificate of Excellence.

How to get started with Code Week

Whether you’re curious about coding, passionate about teaching, or just want to try something new, there’s a place for you in EU Code Week. You don’t need to be an expert. From hosting events to sharing resources, there are plenty of ways to contribute to this fun, open and collaborative movement.

Planning an activity? Here’s what you’ll need:

  • A group of curious learners and someone to guide the activity (teacher, mentor, parent or volunteer)
  • A space to gather — classroom, library, online… even the kitchen table!
  • Materials — computers, tablets, or offline tools for unplugged learning
  • An idea! Use our learning resources to get started
  • A simple way to track who’s coming (like Google Forms or Eventbrite)
  • And finally, add your activity to the Code Week map!
