Activity description:

In this hands-on STEM workshop, students aged 16 and above (including some who will soon turn 16) will learn the basics of operating a Class C0 drone with a maximum take-off mass of 249 g.

The activity is aligned with the goals of EU Code Week by promoting digital literacy, computational thinking, problem-solving, and the responsible use of modern technologies.

During the activity, students will:

explore the main components and functions of a drone,
learn EU safety and privacy rules related to drone operations,
use digital tools and mobile applications for flight planning,
practice basic flight maneuvers such as take-off, hovering, navigation, and landing,
capture and analyze aerial photos and videos,
develop teamwork, spatial awareness, and technical skills through practical exercises.

The workshop combines elements of STEM education, digital competence, engineering, and technology awareness, while introducing students to real-world drone applications in media, mapping, environmental monitoring, and innovation. Special attention is given to safe, ethical, and responsible drone use in accordance with European regulations.
