EU Code Week welcomes its new Council President, Evgeni Minev!

Created in 2024, the EU Code Week Council Presidency has grown alongside its network of Ambassadors, expanding the reach of EU Code Week across Europe.

At its core is a clear idea: recognising and supporting the everyday work of EU Code Week Ambassadors. The President represents the community in Code4Europe discussions, ensuring their voice remains part of how EU Code Week evolves.

The Presidency kicked off with Stamatios Papadakis from Greece when the EU Code Week Council was first established, creating a strong connection between the community and the wider initiative. Stamatios supported the new community engagement strategy and contributed valuable input on the future development of the role.

In 2025, Annie Bergh from Sweden led the Presidency under the motto “Innovate, educate, collaborate: Uniting Through Code for a Brighter Future.” Annie championed collaboration across the EU Code Week community, with a clear goal “to create a future where everyone can contribute to and benefit from the digital revolution.”

She also organised the first EU Code Week Youth Council, bringing young people from across the community together to discuss digital skills. In addition, she consistently provided feedback and served as a jury member for the International Grants for Grassroots call and the Code Week Digital Educator Awards powered by Vodafone Foundation.

Now, the Presidency moves forward with Evgeni Minev from Bulgaria, guided by the vision “Code Week, fit for change, powered by community.”

Evgeni has been part of EU Code Week from the very beginning. Over the years, he has worked with communities and other Ambassadors across Europe, helping build connections and make the initiative more inclusive.

Looking ahead, he is committed to keeping the community strong, connected, and ready to build the digital future.
