KIDS LIFE SKILLS
Open online activity
31 Reu du Remich
The aim of the workshop is to expose the participants (age 16-24) to the methodologies and tools available to teach young kids ages 4-13 computational thinking. Coding is one of the main tools used and in this workshop the participants will be exposed to children friendly coding languages such as Scratch, Tynker, Blockly and app inventor. During the workshop we will do a basic project together in Scratch or Tynker in order for the participants to have some actual hands on experience. Prior to coding we will shortly review and explain how we teach the basics of logical thinking concepts using off screen activities such as games and robotics before exposing the kids to coding on the computer / tablet. Following the workshop participants are expected to have a general understanding of the teaching approach and methodologies and a good base of learning Scratch / Tynker and the capability to continue learning these languages more in depth independently.
