"My robot cake" is an unplugged coding activity to practice algorithms with a recipe! Students will research and identify a favorite cooking recipe with a family member, guardian, or teacher, in class or at home to make a Robot-Shaped Cake! While cook together, discuss with kids why it’s important to follow each step in a recipe and challenge their thinking by asking them what would happen if you followed the steps out of order. This helps solidify the concept of logical order, which is an important building block for reading, math, and daily life.
