Coding with Fairy Tales – Discover, Imagine and Code!

In this activity, primary school students will explore the basics of coding through traditional fairy tales, storytelling, drama and unplugged coding activities.

Students will choose familiar fairy tale characters and help them reach their goals by creating step-by-step instructions. They will design simple algorithms, arrange direction cards, solve problems and work collaboratively.

Through creative storytelling and role-play, students will develop computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity, communication and teamwork skills.

The activity aims to show that coding is not only about computers; it is also about thinking logically, giving clear instructions and finding creative solutions.

Target group: Primary school students
Duration: 45–60 minutes
Methods: Unplugged coding, storytelling, drama and collaborative learning
Expected outcomes: Students will understand basic algorithms, follow and create sequences of instructions, and develop creativity and computational thinking skills.
