Senior Cloud and A.I Platform Specialist at Microsoft

Lynsey Trainor is a Senior Digital Specialist at Microsoft, based in Dublin, where she works with organisations across the UK to design and deliver large-scale cloud and AI transformation using Microsoft Azure.

Lynsey’s career did not begin in technology. She started in commercially focused roles across consumer, media, and gaming organisations, including Pernod Ricard and Paddy Power Betfair, where she developed a strong foundation in customer insight, commercial strategy, and data-driven decision-making. These early experiences sparked her interest in how technology can be used as a strategic enabler rather than a purely technical function.

Since joining Microsoft in 2019, Lynsey has built a career at the intersection of business and technology. She has held multiple roles across partner development and cloud sales, working with complex, enterprise-scale customers to modernise legacy environments, adopt cloud platforms, and build credible business cases for change. Her work today focuses on helping organisations navigate transformation across Azure, data, and AI in a way that is practical, commercially grounded, and aligned to long-term business outcomes.

Alongside her customer work, Lynsey is deeply involved in internal culture and community initiatives, co-leading wellbeing and giving programmes and actively supporting inclusion and career development across Microsoft’s Cloud & AI teams. She is particularly passionate about encouraging more women to consider careers in technology, especially those who may not see themselves as having a “traditional” tech background.

Lynsey believes that the future of technology leadership lies in curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. She is motivated by roles that combine technical innovation with human impact and is actively developing her path toward people leadership within Microsoft.
