Salzburg, Austria: Join the “eEducation Praxisforum: Medienbildung und digitale Schule” during EU Code Week 2026

26/08/26

Digital education is evolving rapidly, and teachers are constantly looking for practical ideas they can bring into their classrooms. The eEducation Praxisforum 2026, taking place from 21 to 23 October in Salzburg, Austria, offers exactly that.

Held during EU Code Week 2026, the event also includes dedicated activities connected to the Code Week initiative. Several sessions are designed as train-the-trainer opportunities, introducing educators to coding, computational thinking and digital learning approaches that can be adapted for their own classrooms and future EU Code Week activities. Participants will gain practical ideas, resources and inspiration to engage their students in digital creativity and coding throughout the school year and during future editions of EU Code Week.

The event brings together around 250 educators, school leaders, teacher trainers and digital education practitioners to explore current developments in media literacy, digital learning, coding, making, school development and computational thinking.

Rather than focusing on technology alone, the Praxisforum addresses a key educational question:

How can digitalisation support effective, responsible and inclusive learning?

The programme combines expert input with practical classroom experience and hands-on learning.

Keynote speakers include Prof. Nina Grünberger from the University of Innsbruck, Austrian innovation researcher and computer scientist Christoph Lindinger, and Dr. Silvia Joachim who will discuss how the underlying principles of artificial intelligence can be taught in computer science education.

The event is built around three main formats:

  • IMPULSE sessions combine focused presentations with discussion, creating space to explore teaching and school development ideas while encouraging dialogue and reflection.
  • TEN × FIVE MINUTES offers a fast-paced series of short presentations, where speakers share inspiring ideas, practical examples and key takeaways in just five minutes.
  • WORKSHOPS provide hands-on learning opportunities in which participants can test new approaches, develop teaching materials and exchange experiences with peers.

Beyond the programme itself, the Praxisforum is an opportunity to connect with the wider Austrian digital education community. Teachers, school leaders and experts come together to exchange ideas, discover new perspectives and build collaborations that extend beyond the event itself.

The eEducation Praxisforum 2026 will take place exclusively in person at PH Salzburg Stefan Zweig from 21st to 23rd October 2026.
