STEP 1: In order to help students understand the notion of AI, we relate AI to a computer that can learn and carry out activities on its own and that it can assist us in creating artworks.

STEP 2: We walk students through the process of making a sketch in AutoDraw. We clarify how AutoDraw applies AI to recognize the shapes users create and provide relevant photos for them to use into their artwork. Then, we put this into practice by sketching a basic shape, such a circle, and then choosing an image from AutoDraw's list of suggestions.

STEP 3: We encourage students to practice using AutoDraw. We use simple prompts at first and then we ask them to draw the shapes that they want to use and then select images from the suggestions that AutoDraw provides. Throughout the process, we provide assistance as needed.

STEP 4: We provide students who finish early or want to explore AutoDraw further with additional prompts or allow them to experiment with the different AI tools available on the website.

STEP 5: We post our AI drawings on the following padlet

Mars Exploration with Autonomous car -Advanced (2PS, E1)
Mon, May 19, 2025 8:43 PM
Fifth-grade E1 class students (ages 10–11) are developing robotic projects using an Arduino-based microcontroller and the R2-ARD:icon car. In this course, they will program the car to operate autonomously on a simulated Mars environment. The car will be designed to:   -Avoid obstacles -Stay within a perimeter marked by a black line -Stop and blink its LED light to send a message when detecting water (simulated using a magnetic field sensor)   This activity is an interdisciplinary activity part of the  "From Mythology to Space" project.   They are using the MIND+ block coding platform along with: -the Arduino UNO extension -the Greek S1 extension from STEM EDUCATION -sensors from both the R2 and S1 robotic kits from Polytech
