10th Kindergarten Neapoli Thessaloniki

Open in-person activity

Greek

Γληνού Δημητρίου, 567 28, Νεάπολη

The activity is integrated in an european Etwinning project named L.I.F.E. Little Inventors save Forest Ecosystems. The main goal of the activity based on the Codyroby concept, is to introduce our students to programming and to patterns of thinking that enable them to combine creativity and strategic decision-making in order to make the right choices for the conservation of forests.

An owl robot moves through the grid in order to reach the forest. It passes through stations related to the dangers threatening the forests which it must remove in order for the forest to remain safe. When the robot owl reaches each cause it will say: e.g. CAUTION dry grass is burned. Risk of fire. And then the tab will be removed so that the owl robot reaches safely in the healthy forest that will be its destination.

Coding with "I love Maths"
Wed, Dec 1, 2021 12:00 AM

We would like to work during December 2021 and January 2022 with our partners. Our group (pupils of First Grade) will work and code without a computer, with pixel codes, augmented reality and drawing. Our aim for this unplugged activity is to raise and deeply cultivate awareness of codeweek and coding among our students and their peers from another European school. We will use simple activities connecting drawing and coding. We will use 0s and 1s, but also different colours too,  follow the code, try to crack the code and understand what the drawing hides. (Each number is represented with a certain colour.)

We will produce our own codes and send them to our friends, And in the meanwhile we will try to decode their codes. The bases of our work will be codes with our flags and buildings of interest in our city, and also mathematics.

The activity is connected to an Erasmus + project, which we run in our school.
