Every year, more and more girls take over IT sphere. There are many reasons why girls ignore the IT sector. The main ones are the negative influence of society and stereotypes that, from childhood, prevent girls from forming a healthy interest in technical professions. The purpose of the Coding Week is to attract namely girls-teenagers (10-14 years old) to programming and robotics, to show them the world of coding and information technologies, to demonstrate how using IT can help to fulfill their most daring creative ideas. During the training they will acquire not only basic technical design skills, but also new knowledge of robotics, as well as find out what computer thinking is. Using the visual programming language Scratch and the Dot robot from Wonder Workshop, we will teach children the basics of programming. During the robotics classes, schoolgirls will learn the basics of designing and programming with LEGO Education WeDo 2.0. They will develop their own robotic device and apply this knowledge to set the engineered model in motion. Through the study of a wide range of technologies, digital themes and programming, we will help trainers to overcome fears and gender stereotypes, provide an additional incentive for studying and choosing the best profession in the future. We will promote IT technology in training; we will demonstrate on practice that today's coding needs girls who can maximize their potential. They will see the connection between coding and the creation of robots; will receive programming skills and will develop critical thinking and teamwork skills in groups. Trainings will be conducted by experienced IT technology teachers.
