DETAILED WORKSHOP PLAN

Duration: 45 minutes

Required Materials: Micro:bit devices, USB cables, computers or tablets with internet access (makecode.microbit.org).

Motivation: A short discussion on how computers receive input information and process it into output results. Announcing the goal: Today, we are building our own device for answering quiz questions.
Explaining the Logic: The teacher explains the algorithm to the students:
- IF button A is pressed -> show a checkmark (True).
- IF button B is pressed -> show a cross (False).
- IF the device is shaken -> trigger a game of chance (Happy/Sad face).

Students open the MakeCode editor and assemble the blocks following simple visual guidelines:

Button A: Input menu (on button A pressed) -> Basic menu (show icon -> checkmark).
Button B: Input menu (on button B pressed) -> Basic menu (show icon -> cross).
Motion (Shake): Input menu (on shake) -> add a short animation with changing faces using the show icon and pause commands.
Resetting: Input menu (on button A+B pressed) -> Basic menu (clear screen) to clear the display before the next question.

After assembling the blocks, students download and transfer the (.hex) file to their Micro:bits.

Students turn away from their screens and hold their Micro:bits.
The teacher asks quick questions (math, general knowledge, or curriculum review).
On the teacher's signal, all students press button A or B simultaneously and raise their Micro:bits. The teacher receives instant visual feedback on who answered correctly.
At the end, a "lucky question" is introduced where students must shake their Micro:bit – whoever gets a happy face wins bonus points.
