Workshops: Imagine, Create and Share with Tinkercad!
Publication date: April 21, 2025
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, it is crucial to equip Vocational Education and Training (VET) students not only with technical competencies—such as coding, 3D modelling, and the Internet of Things (IoT)—but also with essential social skills, including collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity.
These skills are not just valuable for those pursuing a career in the tech industry but can open doors to a wide range of opportunities across various fields. The EU Code Week initiative developed this toolkit to support educators in facilitating VET learning activities for students aged 13 to 18.
The National Italian Hub of EU Code Week, led by Fondazione LINKS, offers two online workshops:
“Imagine, Create and Share with Tinkercad!”
These workshops are designed to collaboratively explore the toolkit, experiment with activities, and prepare educators to bring creative 3D projects into the classroom.
Join us for a creative and exploratory experience that turns Tinkercad into a real building material! Inspired by the WeScratch format (https://wescratch.media.mit.edu/), this online workshop offers an open, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment shaped by the MIT Media Lab’s Creative Learning principles.
You’ll engage in a hands-on, peer-to-peer experience that will help you guide your students in designing 3D objects—encouraging them to experiment, play with ideas, work on projects they care about, and share their creations.
Together, we will explore strategies to support learning through a concrete, meaningful project—within an inclusive, creative, and playful environment. The workshop is based on the 4Ps of Creative Learning: Projects, Passion, Peers, and Play.

🧠 Workshop Approach
This workshop adopts the Creative Learning approach developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab. This pedagogical framework emphasizes learning by creating personally meaningful projects, anchored in the 4Ps:
-
Projects
-
Passion
-
Peers
-
Play
According to this approach, learning should focus on projects learners are passionate about, while encouraging collaboration and playful experimentation as key routes to understanding.
These workshops are part of the Careers in Digital campaign by EU Code Week.
