From October 17th to November 1st, the event “Magenta Moon“, powered by Deutsche Telekom, took place in the centre of Berlin. Thanks to well-prepared hygiene measures, families and individuals, young and old people were drawn to the interactive event about digital participation.
In cooperation with the EU Code Week, we offered a variety of workshops at Magenta Moon. Whether you wanted to fool around with funny robots, connect plants with the MakeyMakey so that they would make fancy sounds, get to know Scratch and create your first computer code, learn about AI while playing a game or do complex research with the senseBox – everything was possible. A diverse workshop programme open to everyone was offered by our mentors.
As a trainee at Junge Tüftler, an organization that took part in the workshop programme, it was the first time to lead a workshop for children of primary school age on my own. It turned out to be a lot of fun and was a great experience! The kids were totally enthusiastic about the little robots “Ozobots” because they move along the lines you draw on paper. With bright eyes, they drew and experimented and at the end there was even a race between the Ozobots… But don’t tell anyone, there might have been a little crash! 😉
We look forward to this year’s edition: EU Code Week will be back in 2021. See you there!
