Open in-person activity
English
Ulica Nemanjina 27B, 23300, Kikinda, Severno-Banatski Okrug, Vojvodina, SRB
This activity is part of the Cultural Bridges Across Europe eTwinning project.
Children will first explore various alphabet codes, such as Morse, Binary, Caesar Cipher, Pigpen Cipher, and Semaphore Flags. Then, they will choose which to use for their peaceful messages.
In teams, they will write peaceful messages in code, a word or a sentence, and challenge their friends from other countries to decode their messages. When another team accepts the challenge and decodes the message, they will use an AI tool to generate an image for the message.
The messages, accompanied by AI images, will later be published in an online book.

YMCA: Coding for Children
🔻YMCA, together with HP, is boosting digital education in Vojvodina, especially in rural areas where Serbia lacks tech resources, devices, and teacher training. We are bridging this digital divide via YMCA mobile hubs to ensure all students have access to digital learning!
🔻We are using platform such as Code.org, where we focus on coding and programming for primary school children as well as digital workshops on AI.
🔻Digital Community Hubs project, supported by HP, focuses on accelerating digital equity in the Western Balkans by helping YMCAs to expand existing or create new digital community hubs. The initiative would enable YMCAs in the region to reach thousands of people annually, starting with young people, including from marginalised communities, teachers, and youth workers. #YMCACH
