Students of 8th grade (last year of lower secondary school) will learn to create facial recognition applications with PictoBlox app.
Objectives:
- Development of algorithmic thinking by solving elementary problems in a creative and inventive spirit
- Elaboration of computer products capitalizing on the connections between computer science and society Implementing algorithms in a programming environment in order to solve computer problems
- Using a virtual environment for implementing artificial intelligence
At the end of the activity students will be able to:
-use PictoBlox to reccognize their facial expressions
-use facial reccognition to start/stop an action or sound
-save the application and use it afterwards

The activity aims to help students learn about the basic categories of recycling, to raise awareness of environmental issues, to develop logical thinking and sequencing, and to understand basic commands. Specifically:
1. Students draw recycling bins or code recycling bins (draw, code letters to form related words, etc.)
2. They use the beebot or become robots themselves. Place the "bins" or real materials (plastic bottles, paper, metal, etc.) in various places on a grid. The beebot or "Robot" starts from a specific position and must use the correct sequence of movements to reach the correct recycling bin or the real materials with commands (e.g. ⬆️ forward, ➡️ right, ⬅️ left, 🔁 turn).

Activitate pe o platforma e-twinning, in care ne am adunat reprezentanti din peste 60 de tari, in care comunicam pe grupuri de whapp, in care am inclus si elevi. Ativitatile sunt extrem de interactive si vizeaza rezultate precum a fi se, postere, filmulete, e-book si multe altele, toate utilizand instrumente digitale atractive.
