Balally Family Resource Centre wants to lead by example on the deployment of technology-related activities and lead the local children in harnessing the power of computing and digital technologies. We encourage the practice of creative thinking in a virtual world: this will be vital in our children's future. The Roblox coding Project for ages 10-12 provides the perfect way to learn Lua programming and game design with Roblox Studio. Children these days are ready to move past visual block coding quickly, and Roblox provides a great way to introduce kids to text-based Coding. The project will guide the children step by step through the process of creating their own games on the Roblox Studio editor. They will learn the basics of Coding and the fundamentals of the Lua programming language by learning how to create obstacle courses, design infinite runner games, build entire playable worlds, and other fun lessons. The event will be their first exposure to new and emerging coding languages for many of our attendees. The children will learn technology skills, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, which will help with learning skills and engaging with others collaboratively.
