My City hackathon

The event will be organized in the form of a hackathon and will be held online, via Discord platform. The aim of the event is to establish the connection among the participants, to get to know each other, as well as to present their hometowns to each other using digital tools. In three days we are planning to organize consultations, presentations and lectures about the following topics: 1. How to make presentations in Scratch; 2. How to gather information on the internet (for elementary school students); 3. How to make landing pages using HTML/CSS (for high school students), where the final presentations will be posted. All the necessary forms and instructions for the participants on how to facilitate their work will be provided. Besides, high school students will be included via Discord and will be available to answer any kind of question or problems during the event. Hence, short presentations in English and Serbian will be organized, during which the trainer will answer the questions and resolve potential problems. Finally, Scratch presentations and web page of all participants will be uploaded on our website. All the participants will receive a certificate of participation.

This event will introduce participants aged 15-19, to basic steps on programming, how to design a website, and how to code it using HTML and CSS. The event will be held in an online format, via the Discord platform. Further, the participants will use the Sublime text editor to write their code, with the help of the trainer. Also, participants will use an online website - Canva to design their website. Therewith, the aim of the event is to present the participants with the basics of web development, how to easily draw their website in Canva, and later how to transform their design into code and make their first website. The target group for this event refers to high school students who want to discover more about what web development is and to find out how designers design and web developers code websites. Also, an event will include a research part, on where and how to search for inspiration, how to analyze existing websites, how to make sketches of your idea and transfer it into Canva, and at the very end on how to transform the design into code. All the participants will receive a certificate of participation, in .pdf format.
Python for beginners

The event is meant for the participants aged 12-18 and will introduce them to the basic concepts of Python programming. The participants will have the opportunity to see how Python works, learn about programming in it and get instructions on how to continue their learning experience in this programming language. The event will be organized in an online format, via the Discord platform. Therefore, the participants will be provided with all the necessary materials, with basic rules and download instructions. The event is adapted for beginners who want to know what Python is and what kind of programs and applications can be built in it. During the lectures, the trainer will show the participants how to install Python, will teach them how Python itself works, how to write correct syntax and introduce them to the basic concept of operators, loops, arrays, etc. The aim of the event is to set up the basics of Python programming, through the concept of learning by doing. Also, at the last lecture, the trainer will provide them with instructions on how to continue their learning experience, after the event is completed. All the participants will receive a certificate of participation.
