ICT-Go-Girls is an European project, co-financed by the European Commission, under Comenius LLP program. Its main goal is to empower secondary school girls with the knowledge, skills and values to help them be able to create future opportunities for innovation and quality ICT related employment. We believe that ICT can provide a flexible and potential motivational environment for empowering these young women in their future choices, their studies and jobs. We are organising a big event for our Final Conference on October 15th!! It will be held in Antwerpen (Belgium) where our partners from CVO Antwerpen have their central, and we expect to have wonderful speakers and workshops. Target groups: Teachers, directors, career counselors, university colleges (IT programs), policy makers. Approach: on-site and online conference and two practical workshop for teachers. (General Director of CVO Antwerpen). 09.15 – Girls, Entrepreneurship and ICT. Personal perspective (Saskia Van Uffelen, CEO of Bull Belox and ICT Woman of the Year in Belgium 2011). 09.45 - ICT-Go-Girls project and its products (Maria R Malmierca, CESGA, ICT-Go-Girls! Project coordinator). 10.15 – Why do women not opt for being leaders in ICT? (Lil Reif, Researcher. Danube University, Austria). 10.40 – ICT-Go-Girls experience taken to schools. A headteacher's view. (Milagros Trigo, K-12 school headteacher, CPI O Cruce, Spain). 11:00 – coffee break 11.15 – Women's WorldWide Web. Girls, leadership and ICT (Lindsey Nefesh Clarke, Founder and Managing Director of W4 -Women's WorldWide Web-). 11.35 – 12.45 Parallel workshops. Hands-on sessions: Room A workshop 1: ICT-Go-Girls activities to engage girls into ICT leadership in the classroom. Digital activities to engage girls into ICT in class. Room B workshop 2: ICT-Go-Girls activities to engage girls into ICT leadership in the classroom. Working with fun hardware to engage girls into ICT in class. 12.45 – network lunch 14.30 – End of the Conference. Remember, if you can't come to Antwerp, you can also participate from your computer!!
