Happening at:

Ul. branitelja Dubrovnika 41, 20000, Dubrovnik, Croatia

From Friday 19th of October 2018 at 17:00 to Saturday 20th of October 2018 at 12:00

Description:

Video game design basic workshop is organized as a part of Dubrovnik Film Festival 2018 (DUFF 2018) with the support of the University of Duborvnik, Informatics club Futura and the Association of Technical Culture of Dubrovnik-Neretva County and the City of Dubrovnik. The aim of the workshop is to teach kids how to design video games. The participants will use a programming tool to add different functions to video elements such as pictures and sounds so these elements can interact and integrate into a coherent unit - a simple, yet complete video game! All commands within the tool are visually executed casual commands so the participants do not have to be familiar with more complicated programming tools. This makes the workshop suitable for young children, lets them chose themselves how the game will react to command and teaches them skills that they can use after the workshop to design their own unique video game.

Tourist guides

Wed, Oct 16, 2019 10:00 AM

Using the Cody Roby Cards my students compete in two teams. They help a tourist ( first the teacher then a student) to reach a monument of choice by giving him instructions. The tourist will execute instructions (as Roby), while the two teams will provide instructions ( as Cody). The tourist will be placed at the one end of the path, and the drawing of a monument (which students prepared) at the other side. All cards will be placed on a table equally distant from both teams. The tourist asks for directions of the monument of choice. The two teams have to think at the proper sequence of instructions and then rush to pick them up to form the sequence. Once a team has completed the sequence, they can give it to the tourist who will test it under the supervision of the other team. If the sequence is correct, the team who provided it, wins.

3 D print as a new technology

Wed, Sep 25, 2019 12:00 AM

We encourage students to do their best. We think it is important for them to discover their talents and to learn through research and experimentation. Through a short course covering five areas, students will be trained in: 1) Introduction to 3D modeling and 3D printing; 2) Selection of software for 3D modeling, printing and scanning; 3) 3D design - creating a 3D model of the object to be printed; 4) 3D prototype - preparing 3D models for printing and 5) Optimization - perfecting the created model. The theoretical part of the course will provide children with basic information about 3D printing as a technology that is becoming more and more common in both industry and households. This part of the course involves monitoring and observing the complete process of model making in the field, from entering the model in digital form, to the final printed form using a printer. The 3D printer will provide students with training in the ability and ability to innovate, the creativity and imagination of students in reality, the ability of the hands and the brain to accomplish the transformation of schooling.
