In this fun, unplugged activity, we will code messages in Morse code for our friends in other countries. The main goal is to develop computational thinking skills and a better understanding of coding and encryption. Students will discover a new way of communicating and take their first steps in coding in a playful way. They will learn about Morse code and its use in World War II, creating and sending messages using it.

Teachers will introduce students to a brief history of Morse code and show them an online Morse code translator. Students will then choose a secret message (related to the Sustainable Development Goals) and, with teacher guidance, code it using Morse code. They will send the message to their foreign friends, who will need to decode it to understand it
