Crana College is an Irish secondary school, this year will see the introduction of Coding on the curriculum for our incoming first year students. To celebrate this we will have an official launch during EU Code Week. All Crana College first year students will take part in celebrating EU Code Week through the Exploring Coding event at our school: • Introduction to computer science, exploring their digital world around them in class workshops. • Start developing coding concepts through programming plugged (with a computer) and un-plugged (without a computer) fun activates. • Learn basics of programming with Scratch. • Experience physical computing with the help of lots of flashing LEDs. ePortfolio Leadership Planning Meeting
School leadership (principal and assistant principal 1/Assessment Coordinator) will meet to discuss embedding the use of ePortfolios in the classroom. Class Dojo will be used by teachers and students to record AofL and AfL activities to enhance student motivation; promote self-assessment using digital tools; build home/school communciations and develop digital skills. A plan will be put in place for the Digital Learning Team to audit and procure the digital devices required to help put this target into action e.g. handheld android device for each class.
