Purpose and Scope of the Invitation

The purpose of this call is to recognise and support projects that have a meaningful impact and align with the values of European Code Week by promoting programming, computational thinking, and digital skills among young people across Europe.

The main objectives are to:

a) support the development of innovative programming activities
b) encourage initiatives that integrate programming into educational contexts
c) promote active participation and cooperation among stakeholders
d) prioritise projects that bridge the gender and skills gap and promote diversity in STEM education

Financing Details

Funding is available for organised groups—such as schools, NGOs, and similar entities—that wish to implement actions or events, or expand existing initiatives aligned with the objectives of European Code Week.

Grants will range from €500 to €2,000, allocated based on evaluation criteria.
Funding distribution will consider:

Evaluation Criteria

• Relevance (30%)
Assesses how well the project aligns with the priorities of European Code Week (use of coding in education, problem solving, innovation, creativity, etc.), the coherence of the activity design, timing, and the availability of professional, organisational, and technological resources.

• Quality of the Proposal (30%)
Evaluates methodological choices, the connection to core skills (digital literacy, numeracy, data, ICT—OECD Learning Compass 2030, CoE Key Competencies for LLL 2018), the use of assessment tools, local synergies, stakeholder involvement, and the use of diverse didactic approaches such as unplugged activities, flipped classroom, problem-based learning, and digital tools.

• Impact (40%)
Considers the extent to which the action strengthens young people’s digital skills, with particular emphasis on the participation of girls, encourages engagement with STEM fields, and contributes to social impact by involving the wider community across ages, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds.
