Open Call for New EU Code Week Challenges
Publication date: March 5, 2025
Calling all creative educators, enthusiastic coders, and community supporters!
The EU Code Week team is thrilled to announce an open call for brand-new challenges to join the EU Code Week platform. This initiative provides a fantastic opportunity to design exciting, engaging activities that inspire creativity, encourage problem-solving, and promote gender equality in digital education—particularly by fostering the inclusion of girls and underrepresented groups in tech.
What’s an EU Code Week Challenge?
EU Code Week Challenges are fun, hands-on coding activities designed to engage students, educators, families, and anyone curious about programming. They encourage learning through experimentation, play, and collaboration, while helping participants to develop problem-solving skills and explore the possibilities of digital technology.
Currently, the platform offers 33 challenges, and we’re eager to expand this collection with fresh, innovative ideas that encourage everyone to participate. By contributing a challenge, you help enrich the EU Code Week community, inspire more people to explore coding, and play a part in building a more inclusive digital future.
Focus on Inclusion and Diversity
We encourage all challenge creators to consider how their activities can promote diversity and inclusivity. By incorporating elements such as inclusive language, diverse role models, and collaborative team dynamics, you can help create a coding environment that is welcoming and empowering for all. These efforts align with the EU Code Week’s ongoing commitment to increasing the visibility of girls and women in digital education and tech careers.
