Ukraine’s First Official EU CodeWeek Academic Year

The 2024–2025 academic year was a milestone for Ukraine, marking its official debut in EU CodeWeek. With JA Ukraine’s National Hub as the national coordinator, the country embraced the initiative with full force, rallying educators, students, digital enthusiasts, and partners around one mission: making digital skills accessible to all. It was a year of synergy and innovation. Digital tools became more than just instruments. They became a mindset for change.

CodeWeek Challenge: A Burst of Inspiration in Autumn

The journey began with the CodeWeek Challenge in October 2024, where over 600 educators and 80,000 learners took part in 3,365 digital activities across Ukraine: 2,123 offline events and 1,081 online events. With six tailored task formats for all educational levels — from preschool to higher education — the initiative came fully equipped with methodological support, ensuring impact and engagement.

🏆 Top-performing schools earned tech prizes: Kyiv College of Tourism and Hospitality (100 events), Sloviansk School No. 15 (91), Cherkasy Gymnasium No. 9 (77), Cherkasy School No. 22 (66), and Ternopil School No. 23 (65).

Mark your calendars: the next CodeWeek Challenge returns October 11–26, 2025 — and it’s set to be even bigger!

Empowering Educators with Digital Skills

To support long-term impact, we hosted 3 major offline trainings and 4 online sessions, reaching 400+ educators nationwide. These sessions focused on practical digital integration, creative use of digital tools, and how to lead and grow EU CodeWeek activities locally.
