
EU Code Week Hackathons – Slovenian Edition 🇸🇮

When and where?
17 January 2026, in Slovenia.
Who can apply?
All secondary school pupils and students aged 16 to 19.
Teams participating in the competition will have the following task:
Develop an innovative technical solution that addresses an important social or environmental problem of your choice, emphasising how your solution can empower communities and create a meaningful, lasting social impact.
Teams choose the problem they will tackle before the competition and prepare their idea/solution.
On the competition day, teams will work together on their solution and prepare a 5 minute presentation. All team members must participate in developing the idea and preparing the presentation, although each may have their own role.
In the presentation, teams must explain the problem, present their solution, and show how it can be used and implemented in the real world.
Before the judging panel, they will deliver a 5 minute pitch and answer questions from the jury.
How to apply and participate?
1️⃣ Form a team (4 to 6 competitors) and register on the Eventornado platform. Each team member must sign up individually.
2️⃣ Select Slovenia to participate in our national hackathon.
3️⃣ Create a team on the platform, enter the team name and the proposed solution/idea that responds to the given task. All team members must join the same team on the platform to compete together.
4️⃣ Join the hackathon with your team on 17 January 2026!

The prize?
The winning team will receive valuable prizes and a place in the European finals.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
