The Code Week Timetable: A New Format for Code Week 2025 in Germany

Code Week Timetable Germany 2025

For Code Week 2025, the Code Week Timetable was introduced in Germany for the first time.

During Code Week, entire school classes were able to take part in engaging online workshops – live, nationwide, and directly from their classrooms. Extracurricular tech experts from universities or educational initiatives offered students and teachers insights into the vibrant world of digital technologies through interactive live sessions.

Why the Code Week Timetable matters

The aim of the Code Week Timetable is to inspire children and young people to look beyond the screen, understand how digital technologies work, and explore their possibilities and applications.

At the same time, it supports teachers and encourages them to integrate digital technologies into their lessons, especially in regions where there are still few in-person Code Week activities available.

At a glance: Seven experts supported a total of 51 classes, demonstrating in 1–2-hour sessions just how versatile digital technologies can be.

Workshop topics

Workshop topics included, for example:

  • ✍️ Creative Lab: Write your own short stories or create images using AI.
  • 🤖 Study Buddy: Discover how AI can support learning in the classroom – and how to write effective prompts.
  • 🏙️ Cities of the Future: Design and program your own future city in virtual reality.
  • 🪨📄🤖 Rock, Paper, AI!: Take your first steps in programming and develop an AI that plays a game with you.

How it worked

Code Week Germany actively sought out suitable tech experts, bundled all workshops into a clear and easy-to-use timetable, and shared it with schools via major nationwide mailing lists.

A true win-win situation: educational initiatives were able to raise awareness of their work in schools, while schools were supported by exploring new digital learning opportunities.
