The Cisco Networking Academy Cup is in full swing, with the Learn-A-Thon phase now underway — and we’re keeping a close eye on the leaderboard to spot the schools, academies, and learning communities (including many from the wider EU Code Week network) who are taking part.

This is the kind of initiative we love to spotlight on EU Code Week: practical digital skills, learner motivation through challenges, and real outcomes learners can share — including digital badges earned by completing courses.

A quick recap: what is the Cisco Networking Academy Cup?

The Cup is built around a Learn-A-Thon challenge where academies earn points as students participate and complete eligible courses. It’s designed to support beginner-level learning and covers topics that are hugely relevant right now — from cybersecurity and networking to AI and IoT.

For participating academies, points are awarded based on student participation and completions (and additional points for pathway exams), with prizes available for top-performing academies.

We’re watching the leaderboard

With the Learn-A-Thon underway, it’s brilliant to see so many learners building skills and earning badges — and we’re especially excited to follow the progress of anyone in the EU Code Week community who has joined.

If you’re taking part, keep going — every completion counts, and it’s inspiring to see learning happening at scale across the region.

Didn’t register? You can still take the courses

Even if your organisation didn’t register for the Cup, the good news is that many of the NetAcad courses are still available to explore — and they’re worth checking out if you’re looking for high-quality, structured learning materials for students, educators, and lifelong learners.

Courses highlighted as part of the Cup include:

  • Introduction to Cybersecurity
  • Digital Safety and Security Awareness
  • Networking Basics
  • Introduction to Modern AI
  • Introduction to IoT and Digital Transformation
  • Industrial Networking Essentials

So if you missed the registration window for the competition, you can still tap into the learning — why not explore a course and bring it into your classroom or community?

Why this aligns with EU Code Week

EU Code Week is all about empowering people to create, understand, and shape the digital world — and that includes building the foundations of safe, secure, and future-ready digital skills.

The Cisco Networking Academy Cup and NetAcad learning resources support exactly that: accessible learning, practical topics, and motivation through achievement.
