Careers as Constellations with Linda Liukas
Publication date: March 25, 2025
The digital world is constantly evolving, and at the forefront of this transformation is EU Code Week’s initiative to arm young innovators with critical digital skills. Our recent webinar, hosted by Linda Liukas, a champion of accessible and engaging technology education, marked a pivotal step in this journey.
Linda Liukas, renowned for her captivating children’s books and innovative educational methods, offers a fresh perspective on learning. She advocates for transforming technology education into a playful exploration, where young minds are free to experiment and innovate without the constraints of traditional learning models. Her approach isn’t just about coding; it’s about making technology a dynamic playground that enhances creativity and problem-solving skills.
In her webinar, Linda discussed the concept of ‘Careers as Constellations’, a fresh perspective on exploring career paths in technology. This approach encourages students to see their career not as a straight line but as a constellation of skills, interests, and experiences that they connect over time. It’s about exploring the breadth of possibilities in the tech world and seeing where one’s passions lie.
To bring this concept to life, Code Week is launching an exciting competition for educators to integrate this theme into their teachings. The challenge is simple: educators use the webinar and its themes to inspire their students to engage in coding activities, particularly focusing on the Careers as Constellations challenge.
