4Girlz by CoderDojo: Inspiring Belgian Girls to Shape the Digital World

Technology is changing everything. How we live, how we learn, and how we shape the future. And girls deserve to be at the heart of that transformation. That’s why CoderDojo Belgium is proud to present 4Girlz: a vibrant, nationwide initiative that invites young girls to explore the exciting world of coding, robotics, and digital creativity.
Part of the wider Girls in Digital movement supported by EU Code Week, 4Girlz is a movement to create safe, inspiring spaces where girls can thrive and grow as digital creators.
What Is 4Girlz?
4Girlz is a one-day event series created by CoderDojo Belgium, specifically designed to boost girls’ interest and confidence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Through fun, hands-on workshops and creative digital challenges, girls get the chance to dive into the world of tech in a way that feels playful, engaging, and empowering.
Whether they’re building their own game in Scratch, programming a robot, exploring AI tools, or experimenting with creative development projects, every moment at 4Girlz is about learning by doing and having fun while doing it!
But more than that, 4Girlz is about flipping the script. Too often, girls hear that “tech isn’t for them.” We’re here to change that narrative. With the support of enthusiastic mentors, inspiring female role models, and a community that believes in them, girls discover that they do belong in tech and that they can lead the way.
Why It Matters
Across Belgium and much of Europe women are still significantly underrepresented in tech careers, especially in coding and engineering roles. The roots of this gap start early: a lack of exposure, societal bias, and too few visible role models.
4Girlz is our way of changing that trajectory. By providing girls with a first, positive encounter with technology in a fun, friendly, and inclusive environment, we help them see what’s possible and more importantly, what’s possible for them.
This isn’t just about equality. It’s about innovation, creativity, and the future of our digital society. Belgium’s tech sector is booming, and we need diverse minds and voices to drive it forward. When girls are empowered to create with technology, they’re empowered to shape the world around them.
