Children draw 2 cards: One is the name of one day of the week and the second is a symbol. They approach the floor grid and stand on the symbol they have picked up. Then they spot the initial letter of the weekday they have. They think about the steps they need to take in order to get to that Initial and when they decide, they announce to the class that they will e.g. take 3 steps forward, turn and then take 2 steps to the side. Then they perform these steps and check whether they reach their destination.
