Students discover a small button by chance in the schoolyard or in the classroom, and next to it is a riddle they have to solve to find its origin. Thus, following the clues they locate colored circles in a hunt for the hidden treasure. At the end, students based on the riddle instructions ask the teacher to give them a code (consisting of colored circles). In the next stage they make use of a map containing coloured circles at different points, with or without the use of robotics, they use the code to make a path that goes in the correct order through the different points. So, they collect the circles and place them in the correct order (matching the code) and then flip them over to read the word that is formed (BOOK). In a fun way, they trace the new story in their library and read it.
The activity described above helps students to cultivate their computational thinking, as they deconstruct the clues that will lead them to the solution with the help of the riddle, and then use basic programming skills to create their own path to collect clues from the map. By decoding the code they practice graphophonic matching and develop reading skills through an unplugged activity. In fact, by engaging in this activity they are motivated to actively participate in the learning process.
