Το σχολείο μας φέτος συμμετέχει στο E twinning πρόγραμμα Tales of Natural Disasters.

This year our school participates in the E twinning program Tales of Natural Disasters. Children learn through myths and stories as well as playful activities how to recognize and protect themselves from natural disasters.

The activity can be carried out with the bee bot robot, but also without it (unplugged), with the physical presence of the children.

If we have a robot motion frame (mat) we use this. If we don't have one, we tape the floor to a square grid of 16 squares, in which the children can move step by step. The children will take over the guiding movement of the (child) robot.

We create a story, where the little bee meets the children and tells them how he managed and survived an earthquake that happened in the city where he lives. But what should an earthquake emergency backpack have? Little Bee doesn't know and the kids help her collect as many items as she needs to equip her backpack and stay safe. In the grid we have created we place images of items that should have been stored in an emergency backpack in case of an earthquake. The little robot will have to collect all the items to equip his backpack. We give the children orientation cards (right, left, forward, back) and the children give instructions about the path the robot should follow. Since it is the beginning of the school year, we place the cards one by one and create many routes. When the kids get used to it, we make the final route with all the objects the robot needs to collect. In the unplugged activity, the position of the robot is occupied by a child, who waits for the instructions of his classmates on the route to follow.

Partner schools will post photos of their activities in the padlet below.

Acts to protect the forest!!
Fri, Mar 7, 2025 8:08 PM

Preschool children will participate in a collaborative Bee-Bot activity between two schools, focusing on forest protection actions. This initiative aims to develop algorithmic thinking and programming skills while raising environmental awareness. Using Bee-Bots, digital tools, and creative expression, students will explore key conservation actions such as reforestation, fire prevention, recycling, and wildlife protection.

The activity unfolds in two stages:

· 1st Partner School: Students illustrate a chosen conservation action and upload their artwork to a collaborative Canva presentation.

· 2nd Partner School: Students receive the image, write an English message related to the action, and add it to Canva. They then record an audio message using Blabberize, embedding it into a QR code placed next to the image.

Finally, all contributions will be gathered into a Canva presentation, forming a collaborative interactive game. Through scanning QR codes, students will explore conservation actions while engaging with visual and audio content.

This hands-on activity promotes computational thinking, digital literacy, creativity, and teamwork while fostering an appreciation for forest protection.

The activities will be published in a collaborative padlet, the link of which will be shared with the group members.
