Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems have been steadily increasing their presence and up-take across all industry sectors. Recent advancements in AI, in particular generative AI, has resulted in a lot of excitement by the private sector, technologists, investors, policy-makers, and society. In this regard, from a regulatory compliance perspective the industry has to be prepared for the adoption and impact of these AI tools, technologies, and products, The anticipation is that this latest AI development will be a game-changer. This course shall focus on providing participants with a better understanding of the following topics:
- Current state of AI and the latest advancements
- Industries and potential use cases for each respective sector where AI and the latest language models, such as ChatGPT (an example of generative AI), can be applicable
- Major industry-specific risks and concerns to be aware of when adopting and using some AI algorithms and techniques within AI systems, e.g., the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) language model behind ChatGPT which uses deep learning
- Proposed AI controls to safeguard AI systems in terms of the data and algorithms used
- New laws and regulations, such as the EU AI Act, and their impact on society at large and across different industry sectors
- AI Governance assessment and implementation that can be carried out for managing risks and controls in AI solutions
