The activity is part of the eTwinning project "Out of the chessboard: an innovative way of reading, playing and programming". It is a simple and funny unplugged activity for preschoolers.

Students will dress up like chess pieces and perform the   #CodeWeekDance in order to reveal their robotic super powers that will allow them to solve all the chessboard mysteries and challenges that will come in their way during the project.

The purpose of the activity is students to:

·         Get to know the chessboard pieces

·  Understand in an experiential way sequencing and computational thinking

·         Familiarize with the concept of coding

·         Make their first step in coding in a funny and playful way

Digital Botschafter werden in RLP ausgebildet um Seniorinnen und Senioren ans Internet heran zu führen. Unter dem Motto, "Senioren Tablet statt Senioren Teller" werden ganz gezielt ältere Mitbürger angesprochen um nicht total abgehängt zu werden. Part 1: Introduction to Robotics

    Step-by-step instructions

    Repeating instructions (loops)

    Checking a condition (logic)

    Goal: Strengthen Basics. Understand more about running repetitive tasks based on conditions


Part 2: Introduction to concepts in Scratch

    Storyboarding with programming on Scratch

    Build simple games with Scratch

    Goal: Learn to tie together different taks in a program


Part 3: Interacting with the environment

   Teach the robot to see around using light/sound/touch...

   Counting events and measuring physical quantities

   Create wearable robots

   Goal: Build a Robot to interact with its surroundings


Part 4: Solving real world problems

   Setup multiple problem scenarios and tackle them

   Search and Rescue missions (on a table)

   Build a simple Robot Arm

   Goal: Prepare to build real robots and also attend Robotics challenges.
