AWS Think Big Space, Tallaght, Dublin
The hackathon is for students in Transition Year and will provide an opportunity to design, develop and implement a solution to a real-world problem. Participating in the hackathon will help students to develop their creativity, collaboration and problem solving skills. The hackathon is an in-person event and will be held in AWS Think Big Space Tallaght between 09:30 and 16:00 on Monday 10th October. Participants will be presented with a challenge on the day and work in teams of 3-4 to solve it. There will be mentors on call to assist the teams and guest speakers to provide guidance on design and presentation skills.

School leadership (principal and assistant principal 1/Assessment Coordinator) will meet to discuss embedding the use of ePortfolios in the classroom. Class Dojo will be used by teachers and students to record AofL and AfL activities to enhance student motivation; promote self-assessment using digital tools; build home/school communciations and develop digital skills. A plan will be put in place for the Digital Learning Team to audit and procure the digital devices required to help put this target into action e.g. handheld android device for each class.
