Coding the origami of sustainable city is an unplugged activity, engaging students at 10-11 age to create a paper origami pattern that makes them familiarize with the main characteristics of the 11th Sustainable Development Goal and the same time students could learn the principles of coding origami steps.
It is about an innovative idea because that unplugged activity is based on origami algorithm and cultivate the computational thinking of students. As it has been mentioned, the activity is linked with 11th Sustainable Development Goal (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and presents through a square paper pattern the main target which a sustainable city should develop and achieve. The activity is going to take place in 16th March 2022 to 17th March 2022. At first place, students work individual and follow the given sequence of origami algorithm. Actually, students acting lie a computer - scientists call a computaional agent - getting something done by blindly following instructions even if you do not know what you are doing or why. Follow the instructions exactly and you still end up with the origami model.
This activity has three main objectives: 1) Students will learn how to use the sequence of origami algorithm, 2) Students will learn the importance of 11th Sustainable Development Goal in order to build an inclusive and sustainable city, 3) They will also be able to use this activity repeatedly to consolidate the topic in a funny way by adding more Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, students of other classes will be given the opportunity to learn/review the same topic in the future (as “ready-to-use” material). This “learning-by-doing activity” can help students to raise their motivation and awareness in the learning process and challenge them to think deeply about how to select and organize the code steps into coherent structures and construct their own code game.
Prior knowledge: students have a basic knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals framework and they will also use pre unplugged code activity on a paper pattern.

The bee loves yellow flowers.
We will prepare a track with many flowers and our beebot will suck nectar only from the yellow flowers. Children will also be given a worksheet with two or more flowers, one of which will be yellow. The worksheets will be different for each child, depending on their age and familiarity with algorithms.
Alternatively, we can give children cards with code arrows and ask them to say whether the code is correct or not.
