Open online activity

Savska 5
11000 Beograd

The event will be organized in the form of a hackathon and will be held online, via Discord platform. The aim of the event is to establish the connection among the participants, to get to know each other, as well as to present their hometowns to each other using digital tools. In three days we are planning to organize consultations, presentations and lectures about the following topics: 1. How to make presentations in Scratch; 2. How to gather information on the internet (for elementary school students); 3. How to make landing pages using HTML/CSS (for high school students), where the final presentations will be posted. All the necessary forms and instructions for the participants on how to facilitate their work will be provided. Besides, high school students will be included via Discord and will be available to answer any kind of question or problems during the event. Hence, short presentations in English and Serbian will be organized, during which the trainer will answer the questions and resolve potential problems. Finally, Scratch presentations and web page of all participants will be uploaded on our website. All the participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Create Your Own Google Logo
Mon, Oct 11, 2021 7:00 AM

Create your Own Google Logo  and bring it to life using code. Make the Google letters dance, tell a story or create a game. In this activity, students will use a popular programming language designed for kids called Scratch. Scratch was created by MIT and its block-based interface is easy for beginners to understand.  (Scratch is the best introduction to coding for beginners).

Students will have a chance to modify the Google Logo and program each letter with a variety of animations and special effects to create their own unique logo. Students can unleash their creativity and also learn the basics of coding with this simple activity that is perfect for beginners.  Google provides a lot of awesome resources for teachers running this activity in their classroom. They have an extensive lesson plan available and also include extra materials like students certificates to give on completion of the task. (Level: Beginner coders,  Skills: With Scratch and Block)
