You will learn how to animate through the use of different costumes, motion and colour effects. You will transport your logo to different worlds through the use of backdrops and learn how to seamlessly move using broadcasts. App Development Workshop
Sat, Sep 4, 2021 10:00 AM
We will host an online workshop for young people over three days which will show them how to to build fully functional apps for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Using App Inventor software, which has been designed as an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone, even children to have a simple first app up and running in less than 30 minutes. The project objective is to encourage young people, to move from technology consumption to technology creation which may well inspire them to follow this career path. The first day will involve them in learning how to create apps, moving from very basic to higher difficulty levels. Day two we will ask them to come up with and design an App of their own choosing. Day three would then be used to allow them to demonstrate their Apps to their peers and allow each young person to vote on their favourite, leading to some small prizes for the top Apps, which we envisage will encourage creativity and create a healthy competitive environment.
