Everyone* is welcome to participate to my ILS with name Programming with Scratch for getting started with coding in Scratch 3.0. Scratch was developed by MIT and is the most used programming software in the world. This ILS introduces students to the online environment of Scratch. The target age group is 8-12 years old (still anyone can join) and the estimated duration is one class hour. Try this here *speaking English

Ψηφιακές ιστορίες στο Scratch!

Οι μαθητές της Στ΄ τάξης του Δημοτικού Σχολείο Αστυπάλαιας "γράφουν" μια ιστορία χρησιμοποιώντας το scratch. Τα παιδιά θα χωριστούν σε τέσσερις ομάδες και θα κληθούν να επιλέξουν χαρακτήρες, φόντο, να προσθέσουν διαλόγους, κινήσεις και ήχους για να αφηγηθούν μια ιστορία για τη σημασία της κυκλικής οικονομίας και τα οφέλη της στο πειβάλλον. 

Πριν γράψουμε όμως τις δικές μας ιστορίες θα εξασκηθούμε με τις δυνατότητες που μας δίνει το Scratch από την Ενότητα "Δημιούργησε μια ιστορία ", θα μιλήσουμε για την κυκλική οικονομία και έπειτα θ΄αφήσουμε τη φαντασία μας ελεύθερη.

The activity is integrated in a European Etwinning project named L.I.F.E. Little Inventors save Forest Ecosystems. The main goal of the activity based on the Codyroby concept is to introduce our students to programming and to patterns of thinking that enable them to combine creativity and strategic decision-making in order to make the right choices for the conservation of forests.

An owl robot moves through the grid in order to reach the forest. It passes through stations related to the dangers threatening the forests which it must remove in order for the forest to remain safe. When the robot owl reaches each cause it will say: e.g. CAUTION dry grass is burned. Risk of fire. And then the tab will be removed so that the owl robot reaches safely in the healthy forest that will be its destination.

This is an AI learning activity. An AI learning activity is a short activity that encourages the use of AI tools and technologies in the classroom. In this AI activity called Smart Classroom, students will train a machine learning model to recognise the meaning of instructions. They will create a smart assistant in scratch allowing them to control virtual devices. This project aims to introduce students to the basics of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) by making their own machine learning powered project. This is team project, each team training their own ML Model and working with its own Scratch 3.0 program. All activities can be done remotely. This activity is for Lower Secondary School students (12-15) years old.
