This lesson introduces an unplugged coding activity by engaging pupils in a competitive/cooperative game that makes them familiarize with the main principles of coding. During this activity students will: • Experience cooperation and competition • Understand the separation of roles between a coder (Cody) and a robot (Roby) • Familiarize with the concept of elementary instruction and instruction set • Learn that a sequence of elementary instructions can solve a problem • Test the correctness of a given program by simulating its execution • Understand that coding entails more reasoning than technology
