Younger pupils will have contact with programming by using the appropriate lessons from the code studio ( The older ones will create code by using scratch 1.4 and they will have the opportunity to use the WeDo packet to have a small experience with robotic technology. Parents and teachers of the students will be informed about this action, so they will have a motivation to visit scratch's page to see the programs of their children and be involved of programming.

This year the students of the 2nd Junior High School of Ioannina Intercultural Education will join the #CodeWeek 2020 event through the eTwinning project “Micro circuits for Mega solutions” which will introduce them to the main concepts of Artificial Intelligence. From the 11th of October 2020 to the 30 th of October 2020, students will participate in work with our robotic kits Lego Mindstorms, micro:bit, S4A and introduce students to Artficial Intelligence with activities "AI for Oceans" etc.

Our Team’s Dance

During the first days at school, great emphasis is placed on the function of the children within the group, so that each member can feel not only special but also valuable as member of a group. In order to strengthen our students' team and with the opportunity of European Code Week 2020,we will create the choreography of your team. This activity does not require any special equipment, as it is an unplugged one. Each group will choose its own dancing figures, make flashcards of them and mix them in order to create its own dance. Videos and photos of the dance will be uploaded on a collaborative padlet with it's code of figures. The teams that will participate, can 'read' each others code and exchange dances. At the end the activity will be evaluated with the use of an evaluation sheet.

Στη συγκεκριμένη δραστηριότητα τα παιδιά εισάγονται στην υπολογιστική σκέψη μέσα από παιγνιώδεις δραστηριότητες. θα δημιουργηθεί ένα πλαίσιο με 16 τετράγωνα όπου θα τοποθετηθούν μια κυψέλη, ένα λουλούδι, ένα τετράγωνο με βροχή και ένα τετράγωνο με φυτοφάρμακα. Το ρομποτ ντυμένος μέλισσα επιλέγει ένα προορισμό εκτός από τα εμπόδια (βροχή και φυτοφάρμακα). Οι υπόλοιποι μαθητές, κωδικοποιούν τη διαδρομή από το τετράγωνο της μέλισσας στο τετράγωνο της επιλογής τους – χωρίς να περάσει από τα εμπόδια - και δημιουργούν τον κώδικα χρησιμοποιώντας τα βελάκια.
