Description:

All students (ages 6-12) will learn about the benefits of coding and will be involved in coding activities during the CodeWeek 2018 period. The event will take place in our school's computer lab during ICT lessons .

5 students of the 12th Primary School of Heraklion Crete participate in “Let's code girls 'n' boys" Action, according with the National Alliance for Digital Skills in Employment at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

The event is organised by the Unit of Innovation and Best Practices (Ministry of Administrative Reconstruction) within the framework of National Coalition for Digital Skills and Jobs with Oracle, supported by Revive Greece, members of the National Coalition. Primary school children, from 8 to 11 years old, will be introduced to coding. The students will be organised in groups of 4 to 5 (equal participation of boys and girls is hoped-for) and supervised by their ICT teachers. The purpose of the event is to provide the participants with the incentive to discover their talent in coding and elaborate on it after the end of the event. Actions of engagement are also included in order to underpin the muliplier effects of the event.
