Liceo Scientifico Galilei in Ancona will enter the 6th edition of EuropeCodeWeek. The event “GaliCode 2018” will engage our pupils of all classes (aged 14-18) in coding activities through workshops and unplugged activities, coordinated by teachers of Italian , IT and English. Here follows the activities in detail: • Training/tutoring activities, introducing the idea of binary numbering with a rudimental self-made computational machine able to perform simple additions and subtractions. This activity is carried out in peer education mode by some pupils of the second year. • Cody Maze (a coding class as a DIT square): pupils will be engaged in code resolutions. After drawing the chessboard on the floor and printing the QRcodes, pupils will face up to the challenge of the Cody Maze, employing the multiplayer mode provided by the Telegram bot • Scratch: classes of the first year will be introduced to Coding through the use of Scratch • Scratch: some classes of the third year will be introduced to Coding through the use of Scratch in English • Theoretical training: some classes of the second year will attend theoretical lessons introducing computational thinking • Code Time: some classes of the second year will use the suggested Coding routes from the official MIUR website programmailfuturo.it • Codecademy: Learn to code interactively, for free, on the web. Activities addressed to the classes of third, fourth year in the Applied Science course. • Code Avengers: Learn to build websites, apps and games with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Activities addressed to the classes of fifth year in the Applied Science course.
