This event will be developed in two main activities: - introducing coding and game design with scratch to AE Venda do Pinheiro ICT pupils; - a 3D printing contest in the school library, using tablets, android apps and a 3d printer.

As a EU Codeweek Leading Teacher for Portugal, and in my free time as a writer on 3D Printing, Tech and education for Bi2Geek, a portuguese portal about science and technology, I'll dedicate a series of articles about coding and robotics in education. The goal is raising awareness of the general public, going beyond educational contexts. Articles already pubished: - coding, robotics and computational thinking; - portuguese opensource and DIY educational robotics projects.

Students will engage in an escape game in order to achieve the ultimate goal... a box of chocolates! :-) In order to win the ultimate prize, students will make teams of 5 and excel in all tasks! There will be 5 tasks and a team can only start a new task if achieves the minimum standards required (which will be provided in e-Teask Cards) - Each team will receive an e-Task Card for each task setting the rules and criteria of excellence for that task (a time cap is also one of the criteria). - Each team will have a Game Card to conquer badges. There will be 2 badges for each task, one for finishing a task, and another for the excellence of performance in that same task (criteria will be provided in the e-Task Cards). - In order to achieve the ultimate prize, each team will have to get at least 80% achievements in the game. - Badge of finished task = 15%; Badge of excellence = 5%. We will be using scratch for the coding tasks but also other web 2.0 tools. Ultimately, the objective is also to practice their English language.

A 6X6 board drawn on the floor and 4 decks of cody roby needed. A class is divided in 4 groups. Each group chooses their human pawn to move on the board. The 4 human pawns will be placed in the 4 corners of the board and 15 questions will be placed in 15 squares of the board. The questions have one of three colors according to the theme: graphic analysis, encryption and problem solving. The first group playing chooses a square with a question and, with their cody roby deck, gives the instrutions to their human pawn to move on the board. If the human pawn makes a wrong move, he goes to his original departure square and the second groups takes their turn to play. If the human pawn goes to the right square, he picks up the question and reads ir to the group. The group has 5 minutes to answer the question. If the answer is correct they obtain 1 point. If the answer is wrong they obtain 0 points. If in the right square there's no question the group obtains 0 points. Then is the second group's turn to do the same. Each group has 3 turns to play. The winner is the group with more points.

The main idea of this project is to create a game but putting students working together and solving problems. Students should be in different parts of the world and work in teams (multinational teams). The project aims to: - Create a virtual game related with curriculum subjects; - Students in teams will create an online world with Minecraft and create rules of the game and a win or lose rules.
