Description:

Organizziamo corsi presso le scuole con il supporto di attrezzature di "gioco" (Lego, Arduino, FABimbo, 3D printer, Lasercut) per integrare la formazione al codice come parte di un gioco. I bambini potranno trarre beneficio dal gioco integrato al coding. Altri percorsi formativi per piccoli makers riguardano il mondo della stampa 3D, della modellazione 3D e della lasercut. Tutti i percorsi sono integrati con i macchinari del Fablab Catania. per gli adulti abbiamo percorsi di formazione sulla digital fabrication e sul design a partire dalla metodologia creativa per finire alla creazione con macchinari CNC passando per la creazione del file di lavoro.

Editing a Scratch script to revise multiplication tables is a useful activity to learn to understand how code written by others works.

The main objective of this project is to approach children from kindergarten to coding and educational robotics through the game. In particular, for children in childhood, it contributes to consolidating mainly the ability to orientate in space and lateralization. With young children, obviously, it will be necessary to use educational activities, software and technologically attractive playful tools, capable of attracting them without making them passive users but active subjects that build, design, think, try and verify, with the intent to educate them to recognize in the technologies the means and not the end of the activities. Educational robotics allows teachers and students to work in groups to learn creative educational thinking. A revolutionary idea, a new way of learning and teaching. Through the paths the children have experiences, they put their creative attitudes at stake, their communication skills and with the careful direction of the teacher, also the availability to the logical-mathematical operation. Robotics offers an additional opportunity to create the conditions for active, constructive, collaborative and institutional learning, with the conscious use of technology, for the development of spatial perception and logic, but not only. The child is also called to implement the resolutive strategies, hypothesize a path, count the steps, give instructions, observe, describe and plan routes according to data constraints. The activities offered to children include the use of Blue-bot, a small robot in the shape of a mouse, programmable in a simple and immediate way, which children will certainly welcome with enthusiasm and curiosity. The little ones will learn to program the movements of the "topino" to make it move in an established path, using the keys of the Blue-bot. The small robot can also be inserted into stories that will best adapt to the design depending on the age group in the various sections.

My pupils at 8th Grade, will be guided by me to build a calculator, using Scratch 3.0. To it they will add sounds, images, and will be inserted also the vocal synthesis, now present in the application

The activity that I intend to carry out, for now, is only planning, since to be operational it must be approved by the teaching body which will be held on 1 September 2019. I state that it is the first time that I participate in the week of coding, also because teaching in a evening course for adults I didn't think I could participate in the initiative. Before the coding week, a period of awareness-raising, research and visualization of resources on the web is expected, in addition to a short Scratch course, during the days of participation in the initiative the students will be divided into groups and will be invited to create math applications . At the end, on the recommendation of the students themselves, the most complete works will be uploaded as resources in the Europe Code Week platform and shared for further extensions and improvements
