EU Code Week Grants for Grassroots: Supporting Digital Innovation Across Europe

Publication date: March 7, 2025

We’re excited to announce the launch of the EU Code Week Grants for Grassroots programme, a new initiative designed to foster digital innovation and coding education throughout Europe. As part of the broader Code4Europe project, these grants aim to support impactful grassroots coding activities aligned with EU Code Week’s mission to promote coding, computational thinking, and digital skills.

About the Grants Programme

The Grants for Grassroots programme will provide financial support to innovative coding projects across Europe. Through our network of National and Regional Hubs, in addition to one international grant for eligible countries without a hub, we’re launching a series of calls for proposals to identify and fund impactful initiatives that align with Code Week’s objectives.

These grants will help enable the development of innovative and scalable coding activities, support initiatives that integrate coding into educational contexts, encourage community involvement, and prioritize projects that bridge the gender gap in STEM education.

How It Works

Each of our National and Regional Hubs will release their own call for proposals, outlining specific eligibility criteria, application processes, and focus areas relevant to their regions. Grants will typically range from €1,000 to €2,500, depending on the hub and the nature of the project.

Eligible applicants may include individuals, schools, libraries, NGOs, private organizations, coding clubs, and associations specializing in coding and computational thinking. However, the eligibility can change depending on the hub, so please check the related call in your location for details!
