🇫🇷 Code Week France – Year in Review (2024–2025) Part One: Celebrating a Year of Digital Creativity

15/07/25

Coding all year round!

As the school year comes to a close, it’s time to take a moment to look back and celebrate what we’ve achieved together – and to begin dreaming up new ideas for what’s ahead. While October remains the highlight of Code Week, our mission continues all year long: to raise awareness, train, and inspire young people through engaging activities around coding and digital technology.

Hackathons for Impact: AI for the Common Good

In March, 29 students from Lycée Caroline Dorian took part in the “AI for the Common Good” hackathon, hosted at SIMPLONLAB. This one-day event challenged students to explore how artificial intelligence can benefit society, focusing on real-world topics like health, inclusion, education, and energy. The winning team created FluxIA, an AI-powered career orientation chatbot—and proudly represented France at the international finals! A huge thank-you goes out to the Ministry of National Education, the Paris school district, and all the incredible mentors and teachers who made this possible.

Championing Equality: Girls in Tech Week

Later that month, from March 24 to 28, we marked Girls in Tech Week in honor of International Women’s Rights Day. On March 7, 70 students from the Paris region gathered at 110 bis, the French Ministry of Education’s innovation lab, for a day filled with hands-on workshops, inspiring testimonials from women in tech, and interactive sessions exploring AI, coding, and digital professions. It was a vibrant and meaningful experience made possible through the collaboration of many dedicated partners—Chut! Magazine, Fondation CGénial, Les Intrépides de la Tech, Magic Makers, Orange, AXA, Simplon.co, and more. Together, we helped shine a spotlight on gender equality in tech and offered a glimpse into the exciting futures waiting for these students.

Stay tuned for Part Two, where we take a look ahead at what’s next!
