I'm a coordinator of Innokas Network which guides schools towards creativity and innovation through technology in the University of Helsinki. In my work I develop pedagogies related to computational thinking, coding, robotics and maker-movement in collaboration with companies, schools, teachers and students. In Innokas Network I'm part of organization team of both local and national teacher training sessions and annual Innokas robotics tournament. I'm also involved in Robomestarit, a production by the Finnish national broadcasting company YLE, where kids compete in different games related to robotics and real life contexts.
I'm a researcher of educational technology and learning. I'm the original instigator of Koodiaapinen MOOC, where teachers learn about coding and computational thinking and learn to apply them to their everyday teaching activities, as the new Finnish national core curriculum from 2016 expects. I was also involved in R05AN K00D1, a transmedia production by Yle, the Finnish national broadcasting company, which encourages young people to engage with computational thinking and programming. I currently work with Code School Finland as well as the national non-profit ict professional networking organisation Tivia, which has been organising CodeWeek events for a few years now.
